Help Tablet app compatibility?

Just received my view from the 1saleaday offer a few weeks back. Gotta say my first impressions are amazing! The first thing I did was put it through the updates as it came loaded with Gingerbread. I must say I'm very impressed with Honeycomb.

Now, about that....when I search for tablet apps, I'm running into several that I want such as CNN and USA Today which dont seem to be available for the View. Why is this?

Some "tablet" apps won't work with the View because of the screen resolution. They design them for the 10 inch tablets.

I thought Honeycomb was supposed to make Android screen res-independent.

Maybe for Android itself, I don't know. For instance Mint.com came out with a new tablet app but I only see the phone version on my View. I contacted tech support and they said it was because of the resolution.
