Help Tablet dead?

Hello all.
I just got my tablet at xmas and yesterday it was dead. I tried to recharge the battery but it still didn't turn on. It didn't even show that the battery was charging.

It does nothing at all when I press the button.
What do you think?

Have you tried to connect it to Kies? I would try that and see what happens.

I've heard of apparent failures like this due to static electricity. Try pressing and holding the the power button while simultaneously touching the screen. Any better?

Yes tks it worked..........I held the button down for at least 15 seconds and touched the screen........awesome.
