Help tablet doesn't respond to swipes, why??

bought new tablet, nvidia shield k1, that forum section gets very little traffic...
my question is simple:
this new tablet is often slow to respond when I swipe it...either to bring down notifications or to 'put away' apps, it's not a swipe that works, it's more like a slow hold and drag instead...
does this mean something is wrong with the tablet??
what should I do??
my nexus 7 (2013) never behaved this way but it's broken, sigh...

If it's that new, and it still does it after a factory reset, then yes, I would think there is an issue with the tablet.
Has it been that way since you got it, or has this been a gradual decline in the performance/screen issue?
 
More or less since I got it last week. Factory reset from the about tablet menu would be good enough or should I look for the method where you hold the power button or the volume button or whatever?? I'll first document all my settings!! :) :)

Either method to factory reset should work, and yes, save anything you need to save before doing so :)
Let me know if that works or not k?
