Tablet for Business?

We're considering getting a few tablets for us outside sales guys. Already suggested 3G plus Wi-Fi so we have our connectivity basis covered. I have a Tab and already discovered that it doesn't like to open web based pricing applications. It works, just not right. What it needs to do is after pricing something through the online configurator, on my laptop, I can open a .doc document, manipulate it, save it, convert it to Adobe PDF and then email it to a customer. I can get the configurator to work. I can even save the .doc file. But I can't get it open, save, edit, or convert to PDF. Will other tablets do that?

And, I haven't tried opening a PowerPoint, but I need that to.

Suggestions?

I don't know if you have any control over this, but this sounds like an unnecessarily convoluted work-flow. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to simply make all the changes online and have the website create a PDF that you then can email to customers (or better yet, even skip the PDF step and just email a customer a link to a web page will all the information)?

Just saying

I'd love to reinvent the wheel of our pricing configurator but we're a very large company with people actively using it around the world. We've been waiting for an "upgrade" for a couple of years already and hear it's still a couple out. Working with what I've got is all I can do.
