I need help picking a Tablet. I am really one for great looking tablets, something big, nice, but portable. I don't mind carrying around wide devices, I carry around binders all over the place so a Tablet wouldn't be much of a difference.
Right now, I'm torn between two tablets. The Filemate Identity Tablet and the Coby Kyros 8024 Tablet.
The Filemate Identity is really everything I want it to be. It has an HDMI output so I can hook it up for presentations, a good capacitive touchscreen, a BACK facing camera (I don't chat much.) which is good for pictures and video, runs real Android Market (instead of AppsLib) can watch videos etc. My only problem, is it's too small. When I'm picking tablets, I want it to make a statement. I don't want a tiny little tablet tucked away in my back pocket like a cell phone. I want the experience of a big screen and an amazing device.
The Coby Kyros 8024 is a VERY nice tablet. I like the capacitive buttons at the bottom and the front facing camera. I don't take pictures or video so often as for the front facing camera to be a draw back, plus chatting IS fun so a front facing camera would allow me to do it more.
It's very large which I like, about the size of a binder which I'm alright with. It's a very sleek design but there are a few draw backs. It's fairly heavy (1.2lbs) and has a resistive touchscreen. I prefer capacitive but I can do resistive, I have before. So that's not a huge issue. My REAL issue is that the Kyros 8024 runs AppsLib instead of Android Market so I'm worried I might not get the full application experience on AppsLib. I'm looking to use my tablet as a schooling device. I want to be able to write an essay on it, load up a power point presentation, etc. It has an HDMI output but could possibly lack the applications to make it useful.
I wouldn't mind having either of them, I'm fine with all of their specifications except for their application systems. AppsLib VS. Android Market. I'm definitely going to use it for games and work so Android Market is a plus but then again I want it to be stylish. The size of the Kyros is grand whereas the size of the Filemate Identity is sub-par.
Is there any way to get Android Market instead of AppsLib (or both, idc..) on the Coby Kyros? If so it'd really be my ideal choice. Or does AppsLib have a good selection of utility and gaming apps that their markets won't even be an issue?
I have no experience with the AppsLib Market so I don't know what it's limitations are. Answers are appreciated!
