Help Tablet is blocking installation of apps

Hi, just got my new tablet and learning how to use it. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to install or use the "free" kids apps such as Story Cloud but get this message:

"For security, your tablet is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Android Market"

If they come free on the tablet I don't understand why they are being blocked. How do I, safely, unblock these installations without allowing other unsafe apps in?

Thanking you in anticipation.

There are two settings under security that could help: try ticking unknown sources, if that doesn't help then also untick Verify apps.

In general, changing these settings is not a great idea as unverified apps from unknown sources are the primary source of malware / viruses etc. I'd recommend turning these back on.

Thank you for your reply. Tried ticking unknown sources, it got me a little further but still unsuccessful. Couldn't find Verify apps. Getting so frustrated at this thing. Might try contacting my ISP that I bought it off and see if they can help.
Cheers.
