Tablet overclock

So my wife bought me and android tablet (early Christmas gift). Not a big name tablet it's a Trio Stealth Pro. Really nice works great except I'd like a bit more speed. Has an A8 cpu with Dual Mali-400 2D/3D core. So, I have 2 questions. 1. Can an overclock be done without rooting? Rooting of course voids the warranty and I can't afford to do that.
2. If I do root and have a problem will a hard factory reset put it back like it was out of the box? That would be a way to cover up the fact that it's been rooted.

You have to root to overclock.

Rooting can be easy or hard depending on how popular it is with developers. Some are pre-rooted out of box and all you need to tell is to download Root Checker from the play store and verify it. If it says 'congratulations! This device has root access' just download a program like SuperSU and then something like No-Frills CPU tool from play. Some devices don't allow overclocking but will allow you to set it constantly at max speed and turning the on demand setting to reduce lag.

Most CPU tools like No-Frills disable the setting if it causes the device to crash or reboot itself. I am not sure you can brick anything trying.

Hey Rigit, first off welcome to the forums :)

So you can get better help I am moving this thread into the General Tablet Talk forums.

Hope this helps :)

And i would suggest to listen to Crash Damage, he pretty much sums it up!

I checked and this thing came pre-rooted! Now I just have to see if I can get an OC app to work
