Just bought a Samsung smt510
It is taller and narrower than our other 10 inch tablets.
Is this how they are now or do they still make them like our older ones
Thanks

its hard to find a old school 10.1" tablet these days. samsung did go with the more narrow design not really sure why they did it to be honest with you. the 10.1 screens were perfect in my opinion.

According to the specs I just looked up this is a 16:10 screen, which is what Samsung have been using since at least 2013 (e.g. my Note 10.1). I think they did try a squarer format inbetween in one or two ranges, but not for long.

Count yourself lucky they didn't make it 16:9. Narrower (or, if you use it landscape, wider) is generally favoured for media consumption (streaming video), while broader is better for documents, so I think this tells you what they think most buy use them for.

You can still buy 4:3 tablets, but not from Samsung. Apple started out with 4:3 and have never released anything else.
