Help Tablet throwing notifications that phone already dismissed.

Every time I boot my tablet (RCA 7" RCT6873w42) it slams me with every notification created since the last time I logged in on it. Thing is, I've already acknowledged and dismissed all of these on my phone (LG K8, US Cellular Prepaid). Is this some kind of sync issue or is there something I can do to stop it? Oh btw both devices are running Marshmallow 6.0.1. No Roots/Mods/ROMs. The tablet gets its data from the wifi hotspot on the phone.

You could just turn off notifications on the tablet.

What sort of notifications? Some you might expect to be synced (e.g. IMAP mail notifications), others would not be, so we've not been told enough to decide whether this is expected or not.

Facebook is the one that annoys me... I have a phone that I use most of the time... and a tablet that I only turn on when I want to do something with it.... however when I do, it goes into 2 mins of buzzing as I get all of the facebook updates for the past week! (whatsapp is similar).
