I'm considering getting a tablet, but got to thinking. Other than screen size, does a tablet really have any advantage over a phone? I get the importance of screen size for things like books and videos, but am I missing anything else?
Nothing much really. They are often cheaper spec for spec, and I don't know if it's just my usage but my Tab4 has better standby battery life than my S7E.
You could try considering the 6inch size phones/phablet, standing in the middle ground.
It depends which two models you're comparing. If you take an iPad Pro and an iPhone 7 the Pro for example is significantly more powerful but it shouldn't necessarily be considered a substitute anyway because the more powerful tablets are designed partly for professional use plus they aren't exactly portable. It really comes down to what your needs are.
6" is a nice size, the phone is still pocketable, the bigger battery gives a decent life (2 days+ in normal use in the case of my InFocus one), plus it's a great size screen for Satanve use.
