Root Take/don't take updates?

I'm getting my new RAZR today. If I plan to root at all in the future, should I not take any updates over the air? I ran into a problem with my Evo 3D where I was stuck using the HTC method to unlock and root because I accidentally took an update.

It's a good idea to hold off on accepting updates till after you know there is a root exploit for the new software. However, all the current updates are rootable, so you're good to rock and roll. Just be sure to check before accepting future updates.
