Take widget off home screen

[Android Question]

I want to remove a widget from my home screen only - but NOT delete it from my tab - want it to stay in my Widget group. can any one help.

[Unforgiven]

one the home screen long press on the widget and a trash can will appear at the top of the screen. Drag it there to remove it. This will only remove it from the homescreen and not the widget drawer.
