Taking screen shot in ap

I am trying to take a screen shot within an app (Clash of Clans) where the palm swipe doesn't work. I thought holding down the power acc home buttons took a screen shot,but that no longer seems to work. Is that a change in version 4.3? How can I take a screen grab?

The two methods you tried or holding in the pen button while you touch the screen with the pen tip.

It's possible that some apps turn off the ability to capture screenshots.
