I have a LG Rebel 4... and have tried and tried to get talk to text to work. When I press the microphone, it creates a audio file to text, and I have found no way to change that. Any ideas?

just using the messaging app on the phone... in language & input, there a 3 keyboards 1) LG Keyboard 2) gboard 3) google voicing typing

unfortunately, those steps are not on my phone... settings, then system, then language & input, then there is no speech setting... I've seen this "possible fix"

maybe try and go into your phone's settings and do a search for speech to text and see if there is a setting for it. also maybe try looking into your keyboard settings as well.

Google Text To Speech

See if it is there, and enabled.
(Mine is not enabled.)
If it's not there, then possibly downloading and installing it may help.

I can't help more, because I never got it to work years ago, and now I don't stress over trying to use things like that.
