Tall and skinny screen?

I noticed that the Inc4G has a really tall and skinny screen... what issues does this pose? It seems pointless to have a 4" screen if black side-bars have to be used a lot.

I dont understand what youre saying? The screen has a 16:9 ratio, its the same size as other 4" screens.

Does it really? Where did you find this? It really looks like some unique aspect ratio like 2:1... The inc2 for instance is definitely not as tall, but is still a 4" screen.

Where are you seeing that its using some non-standard aspect ratio? Are you just watching the videos? Those will mess up the perspective. I am sure that its 16:9, like every other 4" screen.

It just appears that way to my eyes. Very skinny and tall construction. The iPhone4s is NOT 16:9 correct?

ah, so I guess I was just being thrown by the Lg Lucid (4"), incredible 2 (4"), and iPhone4 (3.5") since none of them are 16:9.

Almost sure the incredible 2 and lucid are 16:9, but not sure about the iPhone.

on phonearena they both say 800x480. iphone is 960x640. even the original htc incredible says 800x480.

Thats the screen resolution. 800x480 is 16:9, however 960x640 is not.

I thought 854x480 was 16:9? There are some motorola droids like this. To the naked eye the 800x480 screens are definitely shorter and fatter than the Inc4g.

Either way, looks like the inc4g is 16:9, thanks for clearing that up.
