Tango Video Chat?

I believe you have Proximity sensor for auto turn-off on the front but no camera, you only have camera on the back side 5mpix. Maybe not sure.

Hi AmhfTk, You probably didn't have a chance to see the youtube video I posted in this thread that actually shows the front facing camera, nor did you have opportunity to check the link which describes the front facing camera. I also downloaded an app called Mirror which successfully makes use of the front facing camera...anyway I'm not sure why so many people here are trying to convince me that I don't have a front facing camera when I've already posted so much evidence that I have the camera, I'm just wondering why the camera won't work with Tango and instead only the main camera on the back works.

There is no FFC on the Vibrant without installing one yourself.

How to put a front facing camera in your Samsung Vibrant | DroidDog Android Blog

Please, please have a look at this page. See the section called Video Calling? See the part where it says: "With a front and rear facing camera, you can use this smartphone to connect with friends face-to-face from anywhere in the world."

I assure you the phone has a front facing camera built in that came from Samsung, I didn't install it. It's there and it works, I used it with an app called Mirror. I could see myself while looking at the front of the phone. it just doesn't come on when I use Tango, the main camera. That's why I posted here in this Tango thread.

Here's an image from my Samsung Galaxy S user manual. It clearly shows that there is an FFC.

I think the US version of the Galaxy S Vibrant does not have the FFC, but mine does.

Its not a bad app. It just doesnt stay connected all the time. Kept saying the coverage area was causing problems. Even on 4g

Does it work with Qik or Fring?

Update: It looks like you are correct about the Bell version having a FFC. I stand corrected.

Works great, but doesn't allow the phone to sleep so I have to uninstall. I saw on XDA that one of the Tango devs said they are working on a "battery fix" so hopefully this was what he was referring to.

I can't receive video calls but I can make them... and when I try to register my cell phone number, the app says I should get a registration text but I never do. I even emailed the tango support about this but yet no reply... any other bright ideas?
