Task Killer & BetterCut

Aldro

Newbie
I use BetterCut, which is amazing to edit/create shortcuts and app icons. I do seem to have a little issue with Advanced Task Killer, though.

If I add the Task Killer widget to my homescreen by long pressing the homescreen, I get a neat little widget that I simply have to press once to kill tasks running in the background. If I press the app in the menu and drag it to my homescreen, it opens the application itself after pressing on it. Kind of a detour, so I prefer the first option.

However, with BetterCut I can't seem to create a shortcut to this app that only requires 1 press. It goes straight to the app. Assuming people even understand my vague explanation, does anyone know how to go about this? Do I need to create a whole new shortcut for this and if so, what do I enter in the Type and Data fields?

So you are trying to change the widget skin? While you don't need task killer (I won't get into that here) what you are trying to do does not sound possible. With bettercut you are making a shortcut to the app not a function of the app itself. There would need to be some integration between the two apps to allow you to change the widget skin. You could try to create a shortcut to the widget itself but I am not sure if it is possible as I do not use either program.

I was afraid it might not be possible. Another question, though. Hopefully you know the answer so I won't have to start a new thread. :P

I have a Desire Z and am wondering where the default icons are stored and if can access them without rooting my phone. I ask because I just started using Go SMS and would like to use the default Messages icon through BetterCut. But I'd need to get the image first...
