Help Task Killer/Manager Question ...

carooster

Newbie
I understand the purpose of having and using a task killer but I don't understand this ... what happens when I kill certain apps?

Examples ...

- When I kill the Gmail app will I not get a notification when I receive a new email?
- When I kill the GroupMe app (group messenger) will I not receive new messages from my conversations?
- When I kill the Market - what happens?
- When I kill Hanging With Friends will I not receive new moves from my friends?

Those are a few examples specific to me and my phone. I could list more but I think you get the point.

I guess I just don't fully understand the consequences of killing an app.

Does anyone have a good explanation?

Those apps aren't doing any harm sleeping.

I remember when the OG Droid came out, and all the store employees recommended ATK's, but never actually understood how the system works. They caused more harm than good.

So the first question is, why would you want to kill them? Are they showing up in battery as killers? I doubt it.

I found that "Task Killers" did not help me much, but on my Dinc, I installed PowerMax, which instantly changes settings to mimimize power use. That helped quite a lot. I am hoping that once I get the hang of it, the Smart Actions will work out similarly for me.
