You can get Kies from Samsung's support site (U.S.) and it will also include the latest drivers for your phone. That might be the problem. Which version of SGS2 do you have?

Phone is rooted, but I have no "Stay awake" setting

I tried widgetlocker, it seems cool but there is no customized pattern, only classic sliders, so less secured than android one...

Widgetlocker is about customization, not security. The most secure slider you can get is the invisible slider.
