Task killers

Newbie
Hi, I've used taskiller free from my htc magic days and more recently I bought taskiller full. But since getting my s3 it doesn't seem to work properly. On hitting the taskiller button the whole screen wipes then each individual app re appears.

Firstly, do I need a taskiller on the s3 ?

Also, which one works ?

Thanks

Al

Task Killers you get in the market ( Google Play ) do more harm then good. You don't need them, I really hate it that you spent money on one.

You do not need a task killer in ICS. You can swipe apps to kill them in that app menu thingy (which I don't remember what it's called). And I recall reading somewhere that putting a task killer on an ICS device may even cause some glitches. So, I suggest leaving it off.

The thing I like about the task killer on my original Galaxy S (on Froyo) is that I can set it to kill all the 'redundant' apps I don't want constantly running (but they seem to start up by themselves half the time) and leave the important stuff running, all with a single click once I've got it set up.

It sounds like the ICS task manager on the S3 will require me to swipe across the screen for each app I want to end. If I have 10 rogue apps that started without my permission, that's a time consuming process.
