task manager on my LG L9

Hi.
On my new LG L9 suddenly when I turn on my phone it opens something called Task Manager which I suspect from the logo on the bottom has something to do with Google.
I do not necessarily want to delete this (I read somewhere that it is incorporated in the OS and not a good idea) but I would like to stop it from opening when I turn on my phone to get to my home page.
Can someone tell me how and if I can do this? I have tried everything I can think of but as it does not show up on the app page, I am at a loss.
Thanks.

Thank you for your trouble. Sorry I chose the wrong forum.

The only thing I have received so far is advertising about the L9 phone I already own.

I hope someone can answer or solve my problem.

Regards

I have the same phone.. i just figured out what that annoying feature does. Now that i know it has been kinda helpful. If your in an app and long press the home key it will bring up all the apps, email, messaging, browser, contacts, notes, to do lists, etc..that you recently have opened and that you have not exited out of. The purpose of the feature is to make it quicker to switch back and forth between the apps your using. Long press home key, scroll up or down tap desired app to enter back into. To easily go back to previous app long press home key scroll up or down tap app. When you are finished with an app swipe left or right to close app or option at bottom to close or clear all. When you have no apps open it will say no recent apps. I hope this helps. I'm very much a noob myself. Trying to figure out how to get stuff to save to sd card instead of internal memory.

Thanks for your reply. I did not know that about the multi-tasking. Good thing to know. I have always used Apple products which are a little different. But I refuse to pay those outrageous prices for an iPhone which is why I bought the LG. I am really happy with it and the Android system. I also cannot figure out how to get stuff to store on the sd card but it somehow seems to do it!

Can you elaborate on this?

OK. Did not know what you meant.
Go to Settings>Apps. Choose the app you want to move to the SD card and when it opens, just click on the "Move to SD card" option.
If you want to move or store other stuff you have to do it by connecting the phone to the computer.

Totally off-subject: your avatar is the best looking male on the internet. :D

Oh I knew how to do that, I was just curious about the wording of your last sentence. Major confusion on my part lol

Ok so we can now store apps on the SD card? How come when I go to settings apps and click an app I don't have the move to SD card option in there. Just says like force stop, uninstall and clear data. I am clueless about this stuff. Mary

Not all variants have this option unfortunately.

Pay no mind to me. Stupid me forgot I was in the android forums and not the T-Mobile forums for my phone where we can't store to SD card. Mary
