task manager?

First off let me say that I am technology stupid...How do you get to the task manager on the note5? I can clear out all the apps but how do you clear the RAM? I'm still trying to figure out how to work this phone, it is way different than my old S4. My old Galaxy S4 was my first smart phone.

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS 2001SportTJ !
Honestly,I wouldn't worry about clearing the RAM,Android manages this quite well on its own & besides, this phone has 4GB RAM,so its more than a capable phone w/o messing w/the RAM.

However,if old habits die hard, that's OK,just go to your app drawer & open up the Smart Manager app & the option is right there front & center.

Hmmmm, that's interesting, my phone didn't come preloaded with a smart manager app.

Btw, thanks for the warm welcome and advice.

Yeah,AT&T & VZW are notorious for hiding/deleting/disabling access to settings/apps/etc.. that other carrier-branded & SIM Free phones which are otherwise similar.
However,on the bright side, they do make up for it with a plethora of pre-installed Carrier-centric apps.
How nice of them............... ;)
