Tasker and 4.2.2 "Profiles"

[dbs179]

Hi all,

I just flashed my SGS3 with 4.2.2 the other day and now have a feature that my old ROM didn't, "Profiles". I've been using Tasker since I got my orginal Galaxy years ago, so I'm pretty familiar with how to do things in tasker, but I can't for the life of me find a way to switch those audio profiles. I have no issues setting up tasker profiles to adjust my audio setting individually, but I would much rather set the andriod profiles and just have tasker change those rather than setting each individual volume setting through tasker.

Is there anyway to do what I am looking for and if so, what action category is it under?

Thanks,
Dave

I don't know of any audio profiles on Tasker or Android (I'm on 4.2.2). Is it a custom ROM you've flashed, not just updated?

Your best bet is to see if these "Profiles" can be triggered with an intent. If so then you can use Tasker to send the appropriate intent as a Tasker action

WarriusZero, the ROM is Sons of Andriod "Jedi". I'm guessing it was an added feature in 4.2.2 but not totally sure. When I got into System Settings, under the Personal header I have an option to turn Profiles on and off as well as create additional profiles.

CodeMonkey,
Good option, I'm looking into that now.

Thanks to both of you for your responses.

Found the answer. The ROM is based off of CyanogenMod and the profiles are part of that ROM. I picked up an app called Profile 4 Tasker+Widget that gives me the option to change the Profile now using the "Plugin" action category. This will save me from setting up all the different volume levels, and settings for each task.
