Tasker + Rotation Locker plugin behaving strangely?

I want my phone to force landscape mode when it connects to my car's Bluetooth. Samsung S5 Verizon.

I have a Tasker profile with a 'State' of 'BT Connected' triggering a 'Task' of the Rotation Locker plugin to go to Landscape. It seems to work well at first, but after being in Landscape a while the phone will completely go into Portrait orientation. NOTHING on my device should be forcing portrait. It has never happened before. This is actually worse that without the Task because everything is now the opposite of the way I want (not just the home screens).

Any idea why this would happen? I hate TouchWiz, but surely that's not the problem here. Other apps running are CarHome Ultra and Google Play Music. There doesn't seem to be any consistency for when it switches to portrait.

A side question is that I don't see how to specify my car's BT connection. I was previously using Llama and it prompted me to select a stored BT connection. Any way to do that with Tasker?

It has taken me a lot of research to figure out what should work... but it still doesn't.

Does it stay landscape if you don't use the Tasker profile and set landscape manually?
If it still reverts to portrait then we can eliminate Tasker and we'll have to look further...

There is an option to "Run persistent background service". I guess that's what it needed. There is a blank notification icon, and I think it's kind of weird that it has to run in the background, but it has worked okay so far.
