Tasker task shortcuts do not execute

Tasker Shortcuts not working
1. Create task Named “ALERT”
Alert …. Beep …. Assign an ICON (very simple / no conditions)
2. Close Tasker
3. Slide home page to far left
4. Press and hold the spot and select from Task Shortcut the Task “ALERT”
PROBLEM: Now when I tap the ALERT icon.. nothing happens
( I believe I have checked all Settings (Sounds/Volumes) and all are maxed )
I’m Lost ?
device : LG l33l ( This is the Trackphone LG Sunset)

Here's a guess ...

After you created the task ... did you position to the top of the task list and select Exit and Select Save First?

It is common to overlook.

Tasker/Preferences/Monitor ... uncheck Run in Foreground

Tried this . Did not help. Icon with Alert / Beep does nothing. The Task (Beep) works when run inside tasker.

Also, I have been asked "which Launcher do I use" . I have no idea as this phone is brand new. I do not think I have added any launchers so it is probably the default for LG L33L SUNSET.

BINGO I Unchecked "Allow external access" and it works Thank you

I do not have your phone. I can not duplicate your problem on my Droid Turbo 2.

Did you try clicking on the icon while Tasker was still loaded?

In many Android phones... tem settings has a menu item of Home where the default launcher is selected.

In settings/security/device administrator is Tasker authorized?
In settings/notifications/mortification access is Tasker authorized?

Do other widgets work correctly on your phone?
Is your phone root-ed?
Did you buy your phone from a third party?
What version of Android are you suing? 5.1?

REPEAT post : Sorry: Tasker Task works when run within Tasker. Does not run when clicked as an ICON ( and seems to not run within a PROFILE.)

Goal : cause a BEEP (or any other task I have Tried)
When I run the task within Tasker ,,, works fine
Icon has been assigned to task
Icon has been placed on desktop and nothing happens when pressed.
Launcher: HOME or NOVA
Neither work

TASKER SETTINGS : allow external Access has been checked and not checked and neither work.
I have had this work at times, but now,,, not working.

Help please,,,,

Threads merged.

Are you doing this with the Task Shortcut widget?

There is no problem executing this on my un-root-ed Droid Turbo 2.

See the questions in post #8.

What happened to your External access solution you identified?

There was one odd report elsewhere about it working but there was about a three minute delay. Try clicking it and then do nothing for 5 minutes as a test.

Thom ..
Task Shortcut Widget YES
and now Profiles have stopped woring
e.g. Time From 23:00 To 23:00 does not work but task can be run from within Tasker
The Profile/Task is VOL NIGHT like in the "Tasker 101 Tutorial"
Allow external Access Checked or not checked , neither work Even though it did make a difference in the past.
I have tried Launcher NOVA and native HOME neither work.
I am not "rooted"

FIXED
Uninstalled tasker Then Installed tasker Then Restored Data from an hour ago...
All shortCuts working Now Changing Time Profile to test >>>
Fingers Crossed

Did you just try rebooting your phone?

The conclusion from the Tasker author on the other problem I mentioned was that it was an issue with the system it was running on or the launcher.

Did you get the phone from the carrier or from a third party? (Third party devices sometimes are root-ed, something is added, un-root-ed, and then sold to an unsuspecting buyer.)

If you highlight a profile or task you can then choose Export/Description to Clipboard and then paste it into a post here ... like ...

tlaNull
A1: Beep [ Frequency:4096 Duration:256 Amplitude:100 Stream:5 ]

If Profiles have now just suddenly stopped working ... did you change anything? ... Preferences/UI/Run in Foreground should not be checked.

When updating a Project, Profile, or Task always go to the top level and chose Exit and the choose Save First. A common problem is making a change and it is not recorded everywhere until you do this.
