Tasker Time Context Profiles Don't Activate when Phone has been Inactive for too long

I have a Tasker Profile that is set to run twice a day at 2 am and 6 am while I'm asleep. The issue, it seems, is that if my phone has been asleep too long, (i.e. >30 minutes with screen off and no interaction), the task will not run.

I have set this task up to wake up the device, do its thing, then put the device back to sleep when its done. This executes perfectly unless the device has been inactive for too long. When this happens it just simply refuses to wake the device up to run the task. With the Launched Task Priority set to 10 I am still only getting it to activate roughly half the time.

I am running a rooted Galaxy s5 with the latest version of tasker installed. Is this an issue with any application when the device is asleep? Is there some setting or work around to make these timed tasks force the device to wake up?

Hi game king 13,

Could you share some details on how your profile is configured, and what it actually does (or, at least, what it's supposed to do)? And is there anything on your S5 that could be considered non-standard (naughty task killers, disabling Tasker's notification icon, etc)?

I have a number of time-based profiles on my Nexus 4 that work every time, so it shouldn't be a Tasker limitation.

The task is basically intended to perform check-ins on the Carl's Jr app by first spoofing my GPS to think that its at a Carl's Jr location.

This is my first experience with tasker so I don't know all the tricks to it, but I basically have it right now set up to turn on and unlock my phone screen then I made scripts to simulate taps in the different necessary locations.

I made the tasker icon in the notification bar invisible, but the tasked app still appears when I pull down notification window, so I don't think that's the issue. I've had more luck with this task since changing the priority of the tasks from 5 to 10 but it still fails from time to time. I also don't have any other task killers of note.

A side question I have since Im still new to tasker, but when you create scripts to simulate taps, the screen needs to be on in order for these functions to work, right? At first I didn't have it turn on or unlock the screen and the script would get stuck at the first simulated tap.

Hmm... Is the phone charging (or at least connected to external power) at the times the profile should run?
