Tasker, WIFI and Background Services

So here is what I would like to accomplish with Tasker.

So the idea here is that I would like to specify that when I'm on a certain network the only data being used it manually asked for. I.E. if I'm playing music from pandora or spotify use the wifi data, but don't use it for things like email, calendar etc... unless I manually sync that information.

So in other words, no data should be used without my knowledge and consent on a specific WIFI network.

Anybody know how to accomplish this?

Make a profile to trigger when you run those apps which need wifi. In task make it turn on wifi and data off. And perform inverted exit task for the profile.

Thank you the for quick response. The only problem with this solution is, let's say I'm using the task for Spotify. Let's say I listen to Spotify for an hour. During that hour, it's going to fetch email, download podcasts, whatever.

I was really hoping for a way to turn off all those services while I'm on a paticular WIFI network. I'm using a tablet so no data otherwise.

Afwall+ (needs root) can block or allow whatever apps you want. You can define multiple configurations (which apps to block or allow) in afwall+, and switch between configurations using tasker
