tasker wifi & calendar tasks issues

rnn

Lurker
Hi,
I've installed it and set up some simple profiles. Still, i'm a beginenr and there are few things i failed to to achieve, maybe someone can help:

1. Wifi - if phone isn't connected to wifi: disable wifi, for 1 hour. After 1 hour, enable wifi: if wifi connection available, connect, else, disable wifi for 1 hr. etc.

2. incoming outlook email sound - i want to set up a profile that increases incoming outlook email notification volume to max during some activities at my outlook calendar.

I'd love some help :)
tnx

I'm trying to sort something out with the wifi but I'm struggling when it comes to manually switching wifi on or off while the wifi is not connected. Bear with me...

Got it!
I personally wouldn't use this method but it was a great exercise. :)

I've exported it as xml:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3R3a2WGs6rYQnhiZGFaVHh0cjg/edit?usp=sharing

There are 3 profiles:

1) Wi-Fi Management:
If the Wi-Fi is not forced off by the user and not connected, Tasker will:
- Wait for 1 min to give the handset a chance to find a Wi-Fi
- If there is still no connection, switch the Wi-Fi off and wait for an hour
- Switch the Wi-Fi on
- Give the handset 1 min to get the chance to connect
- Go back to an hour cycle if unsuccessful and so on...

2) Wi-Fi toggled by user:
If the Wifi is switched off by the user, Tasker will not try to switch on or off the Wi-Fi periodically
If the Wi-Fi is switched on by the user, Tasker will give the handset 30 sec to find a Wi-Fi

3) Wi-Fi Connected:
If the handset is connected to a Wi-Fi, the app doesn't try to switch it on and off
This profile has a higher priority so it can kill the Wi-Fi management task (which if it was running could interfere with the connection)

There are 2 variables:
%TaskerTogglingWifi: when = yes, Tasker will not trigger the profile 'Wi-Fi toggled by user' to avoid interferences
%WifiForcedOff: forced off by the user. Tasker won't manage the Wi-Fi if = yes

If you have any questions, please ask.

No, I was hoping someone would pick it up while I was tackling the wifi issue.
I'd need more details about what you exactly want to do (rules, examples).

It's a simple idea really. In my work I'm sometimes on "shift", which means that I must react whenever I get an email (say if there's a failure etc. ) .
And when I'm on shift, there's always a meeting in my calendar titled "shift". So I tried getting Tasker to play a loud sound whenever I get an email AND at the same time there's a meeting in my calendar titled "shift".
Found some ideas online, but couldn't make it work. :-\
Any ideas?
Many thanks!

Let's keep it simple then:

Profile: Shift
State > App > Calendar Entry: Title = "Shift" (any other parameter can be left as default)

Task: Set Shift Settings
Audio > Silent Mode: Off
Audio > Notification Volume: 7
Audio > Ringer Volume: 7

As far as my tests show, you don't even need an exit task.

Yes looks like it works, I actually tried something similar but it wasn't stable, maybe because I didn't turn off silent mode... God is in the details I guess B-)
Big thanks!
