Help TB loses data connection

For about a week now my thunderbolt at first connects to 4G when i first power it on, then it goes into 3G and bounces between 3G and 1X all day and occasionally back to 4G. It just started doing this out of nowhere...i didn't make any changes on my phone nor have I updated to GB.

I've talked to VZ support, which had me change various settings, but i still lose the 4G after a while. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this? My last resort is a hard reset, but im really trying to avoid this if i can.

This has happened to me a few time before. I use LTE On/Off to change the service from 1x/3G/4G etc, or just turn the radio off and on. One thing I did notice was that this usually happens right before my payment cycle ends...

I had the same problem before the latest update and set my phone to 3G only. Then the 2.3.4 update came and I thought I would try again. Nope. Same problem. Back to 3G only. TB was a PITA before the update and worse now.

Did Verizon check to see if your radios were up to date? Mine would bounce around like that all the time, 4G, 3G, 1X, then nothing. I did the updates and the last update before GB finally fixed it for me although at the house I wouldn't get 4G anyways so I'd just toggle off 4G all together. Are you in a deep 4G area on Verizon's map? If there are even small gaps near you in the coverage, consider yourself in that dead spot. 4G LTE Network | Verizon Wireless

I never had this problem before about a week ago. Im the Los Angeles area and always got nothing but 4G. I didn't download or change anything on the phone. It just came out of nowhere. It really sucks because often i get no data at all, especially the times i need to check something. I can't figure out what messed it up all of a sudden

When it happened to me I tried to find out from Verizon if they were having tower issues in the area. I'm not sure if their policy has changed or what but they acted if I was asking them for their credit card number. I guess they think if they tell me that there's a local tower issue, they're automatically claiming fault and maybe I'll claim breach of contract or something.... I say call them again and see if there's a chance that you can get the Tech to tell you whether or not there's a local outage.

I'm having the problem lately too. My "connect to mobile network" keeps getting unchecked and will not go back on. I either have to turn on airplane mode or restart the phone. very frustrating to say the least.
