TCL A509DL

I have searched this forum and see nothing for my Straight talk based Alcatel TCL A509DL. I wish to root this device, I've rooted past devices running android so I'm familiar with the process and won't brick it.

How can I do this since there is no support for my device?
I tried "kingroot" and it wouldn't go thru, I forget the error, but am at a loss.

What did you actually use to root Android devices in the past, King
Root, or some other process(s)?

That TCL phone is running Android 11, which can't be rooted by those so-called "one click" vulnerability exploit tools.

FYI things like King Root, Kingo Root, etc. haven't worked since Android 6, and haven't been supported by their devs for a long time now. .

and also not all devices can be rooted......but why would you want to root a device that has no dev support? for me it is always no devs=no fun.

for one if you plan on rooting a device, you will also need a custom recovery. no recovery means you can't do nandroid backups which are complete backups your phone. and i would never mess around with system files unless i have a recovery and a nandroid backup.

next time pick a better phone that has a community of developers behind it.
