TE: Brent Celek or Marcedes Lewis

Hey all,

I've got both. Brent Celek is the favorite, especially being tight with Kevin Kolb who will play starting QB for Philly this week, but he hasn't put up any big numbers and is recovering from an injured wrist (probable status). Marcedes Lewis doesn't have as much experience and is on the Jags, but he put up good numbers last week and is quickly climbing to one of the most preferred TE's of the league. My question is, who should I start this week? Do I go for consistency at average numbers (5-8pts) for Celek, or roll with Lewis and hope he does as well as last week's two TD's and other catches/runs?

Things to consider: Last week the Jags did that against the Bills, this week they play the Titans. Philly plays Atlanta.

Imo it is a wash, so I would typically go with the guy that has more big game potential, which is Lewis.

Thanks, that's who I put in on Tuesday and now Yahoo! sports is confusing me with their recommendation of rolling with Celek this week. He's one of their exclusive recommendations in their WR video.

Kolb is the king of the check down these days. And despite him [Kolb] not looking good so far he did hit Celek last week for a score. I dont see Lewis scoring twice on the Titans did the way he did against the Bills. I think even with Kolb, Celek is the more consistent performer and I'd go that route.

The Titans are exposed when trying to defend a tight end. The leading reciever when Kolb is in is McCoy so him being a checkdown isn't benefiting Celek as much. This is more of a toss up b/c as soon as you start one, the other is going to get all the points. Neither of these guys are consistent players but I think that Lewis is going to be used more in the underneath routes which the titans obviously struggle with
