Tegra or Exynos for Ps suite

Hi,

I recently read that the PlayStation suite for Android will also include PS2 and more than likely PSP games in the future along side the already planned PS1 games.

The downside to this is the article stated that these will only work on "Tegra devices".

I am planning to buy the S2 when it comes to the states and I was planning to get the Exynos version but now I am wondering if I should wait (even longer) for the Tegra version to become available here. Having the ability to play Final Fantasy 10 on my cell phone is very important to me.

Doesnt make sense as even the PSP phone doesnt use Tegra 2, but I guess if you must have the PlayStation suite then you will have to wait for Tegra 2 version, or buy another phone.

Pathetic really considering the PowerVR SGX540 in the Galaxy S is faster than the Tegra 2 GPU.

Yeah the first PS phone looks to be a disaster. Basically my N1 with hard controls. If Sony would have made the phone more like the S2 I would say this thing was the god of hand held gaming

Bear in mind it could end up looking like this:-
Exynos with SAMOLED+
Exynos with SC-LCD
Tegra 2 with SC-LCD

Yep... Tegra 2 not with SAMOLED+

Even if the screen is not as nice I would still choose the option to play Ps2 and PSP games on my phone over having a prettier screen but less access to premium content. The reason I bought an Android was to use emulators and play classic games all in one place.

I find the whole fragmentation over processors disturbing and would hope these companies realize they need to work together rather than compete or else the entire Android community will suffer.
 
I wish they would of came with their material ready. Not that Super Clear LCD is bad, but I mean it takes away from why you initially went for the phone.
 
The latest news from Korea says that there will be no Exynos/SC-LCD combo. Tegra2 will be coupled to SC-LCD only. SAMOLED+ is reserved for Exynos only.

Yeah but who cares if the screen is nice but you miss out on all the premium content?

If that's so important for you, why not get Tegra2 phones like Optimus 2X, Atrix? I guess Exynos will be able to run those games after all if not at the time of release.

Wasn't the S2 announced to be equipped with ARM's Mali 400 GPU?

I think the SGX540 would've beaten the Tegra 2 chipset with quite a margin, whereas the S2 was actually behind most Tegra 2 chipsets in recent benchmarks (those reports also said it was a Mali 400 GPU)

I does, just look at the Optimus 3D, I'm guessing we havent seen the true performance of Mali 400MP yet, there must have been a reason Samsung went with this over the the PowerVR chips available.

Lets just hope it wasnt because they were cheap. :p

No phone can match the S2 specs currently.

The Optimus 2X has half the Ram and max 40 GB storage space

The Atrix is close but has 16 GB less storage space.

I already know exactly how I will fill all 60-64 Gbs of space on a S2

Though with all the drama over Tmobile I may switch to Sprint and grab the Atrix there (supposedly 04/20/2011). ATT can burn in hell.
