My phone has been shutting down then restarting often.
MY error message is "Tell HTC! This phone has just recovered from an abnormal reset. Would you like to tell HTC?"
I have spoke to a rep with the wireless carrier. I have told to do a factory data reset and have done so. My phone will be 11 months old (well the age since I had bought it new, who knows when it was made). The reboot did not work. My next step was to call for tech support. I have been told that my phone has water damage because a small block of paper is not white. I have never removed the protective case or screen cover since the sales rep had put it on. It has never been exposed to any water, unless moisture in the air is considered enough to cause water damage. I have 2 of these phone and BOTH have the same color block on the water damage indicator. One is fully functional. I am told that this voids the warranty, to either buy a new phone or live with it.
My question is this: How many others have had a similar problem with shutting off?
Does anyone else have an HTC phone where the small block of paper is not white and is fully functional?
