Root Telus Firmware Rooted

Just flash your default firmware back using RSD Lite. After some poking around Google, I've found that there's no available sbf file for the Telus Milestone. I guess you just have to wait until it becomes available. You can always flash the Brazilian FW if you really want to get rid of root but you won't receive the OTA update from Telus when it comes.

Yup, when you apply the OTA you lose root. Depending on your firmware, you may or may not be able to flash the update.zip again to obtain root again. Right now for the EU and Asian 2.1's, you need to flash the old recovery to be able to root. I don't know how it's going to be for the Telus 2.1 though.

But when the 2.1 ota update comes along and i get it will it get rid of root

I am also debating when I get it whether to root. When the 2.1 update comes from Telus, I will lose root access? But I will have no trouble getting the Telus 2.1 update... when it arrives?

Im not sure. I unrooted my phone because the benefit was minimal. No custom rom's or themes what is the point. Until then im not rooting again

The only reason I'd want to root my Milestone is for CPU over-clocking, so that probably wont be happening anytime soon.
