Apps temporary rooted device?

i did "adb root" on one of my non-rooted devices and got no error message. usually it should say "adbd cannot run as root in production builds". is this a common bug in adb or was it actually "temporary rooted" (whatever that means)?

i can't find neither su or Superuser.apk on the device but since it's not rooted it's hard to do a proper search.

i'm not able to reproduce this.

i'm not trying to root it, i only noticed that the "adbd cannot run as root in production builds" error message when doing "adb root" wasn't there as it should be. it's a nexus 7 2012
