Root Terminal says access denied when typing su

I am going through the stages of rooting my MT4G.
I am at the point where I need to type in
su
cd/sdcard/root
sh root.sh
and when I type in su it says su: permission denied

I still have the super user app in my app drawer.

ETA: I got it to work!
