Help Terrible signal problem

Hi i bought a s3 yesterday and i love it but the signal is terrible. I get one bar most the time, 2 if im lucky. I havent done anything to it like updates. Im not very techy minded so please bare with me. I didnt have this problem with the s2.
Im in the UK. Is there any fix for this? Thanks

Cant see a reason why it would be bad signal if u allready owned a previous phone modle. Maybe go to ur retailer and explain the issue and have them and try swaping it for another gs3 and see if that works
