the new update does not seem to affect the root method so if your worried about losing your rooting capabilities dont be i just unrooted upgraded and then rooted again..saved you the dreadfulness..lol

No need to unroot. I installed it without taking root off and it installed fine and I'm still rooted.

No JB :(. No major changes either.

yea i unrooted as a precaution method plus to see if some one that got the phone with that firmware version would be able to root the way we did.:D and dont worry it might not have been JB but im sure some time in the near future we will get a custom rom or maybe even a upgrade from metro.. hopefully O.o

Can't wait for the bootloader unlocking tool for our phones, from LG..... If they ever get around to it.

well I get a Err 0x13E error with the attached message after reboot. Maybe I need to defrost everything frozen in TB?

Yeah, I got the error as well. Then the box saying that the update doesnt support rooted devices. ...Might just hold off on updating till I get more information on what was specifically changed.

Hmmm, that's funny. I'm rooted and had no problem installing it.

Read the OP.

Run the unbricking guide (it also unroots), download and install the update, then root it again.

No major changes. It doesn't effect bootloader or recovery.

I read it....im just stating what error I received.....and it looks like I am not the only one and im trying to figure out why.

Ok i did the update and after it said it isn't compatible with rooted devices. How do i know that it worked?

Fwiw I had to factory reset then unroot then update and root again. Idk that's just the only way I could get to work. But thanks to tibu and stock backup app it was easy as pie:D

Well does anyone know whats new in the update? I don't Wanda do all that if it really isn't worth it.
