I'm completely new to Android developing. Today, I wanted to try out if I can turn on any app on emulator and/or my device (HTC One).
Sadly, it seems like emulator will not be an option. If I understood correctly, none of emulators works without VT-x (virtualization) which seems to be unsupported by my hardware ( I had to to install "unlocked" BIOS just to see "un-supported" :C ).
As for my phone - for some reason I can't get any connection. Phone sees, that it's connected to USB, but I can't find it on Device Manager on PC. I have installed HTC Sync Manager with no results as well (can't find my phone). Before this I tried only installing HTC Windows 8.1 driver - nothing helps.
Of course Android Studio doesn't see my device as well.
But what I want to ask is:
1) Is there any emulator working WITHOUT VT-x/WhateverItsCalledInAMD?
2) Is there any sense in developing for Android without emulator, using only external device? (well assuming I'll get my phone to work somehow)
3) Any idea what's wrong with connection to my phone?
If that matters:
I'm on laptop Lenovo Y580 with Windows 8.1
My "External device" is HTX One phone with Android 5.0+
(I also have somewhere some old cheap tablet with Android but I wanted phone for my 1st app)
