Help Tether Apps

Hey everyone,

Not sure if I should have just posted this in the Applications section. I posted here, only because I am not sure if this applies to all Android phones, or is particular to the X10.

I tried 2 tethering apps.

EasyTether Lite and PDAnet Free edition.

PDAnet was more functional.

With EasyTether Lite I was not able to goto https sites, nor use my Windows Live Messenger as well as Google Talk.
Even with the iGoogle home page loaded, the Google Chat applet would not load.

PDANet is the one to use for our X10's if you need to tether imho!:D
 
Thanks for the info, always good to have app suggestions. I'm too scared to tether my phone to my PC incase I run over my internet allowance :P
 
PDANet has a very basic data counter on screen on the phone when in use. You can always couple that with 3gWatchdog and you can easily monitor the data usage from there.

But yes...definitely found PDANet better than EasyTether.
 
I have EVO, purchased Easytether Pro. Works but the download is in-and-out, i.e., not steady. could you tell me why? THX
