Help Tether blocking software blocking mobile browsing?

I stopped tethering when they governed the speed way down. When I used to tether I noticed that if I opened www, facebook, com I got 1 kbps max after MPCS slowed the tethered connection, but if I went to m.facebook.com first I was getting 4G speeds on my laptop, even if I went to the full site after, I still got 4G speed. It was like they couldn't tell I was using my laptop because I opened my browser to a mobile site first.

Now, on my phone I will have a fast connection to m.facebook.com and then choose "show desktop site" from the left dropdown and my phone goes very slow, like it thinks my phone's browser is a tethered device.

Is this possible? I like being able to access full versions of websites, it would be a bummer if they blocked that on our phones.

You just discovered what was already doscovered. metropcs isnt really blocking tethering more like filtering the difference between mobile versions of sites and full html version of sites to keep us from tethering our homes computers or laptops to our 4g connection. Now to further prove this theory on this u can look on this subforum how to get around that filter by just using firefox or google chrome and changing the agent tag to make metro think your on a mobile device you will notice you will have full speed. ;)

I have no slowdown setting the browser on my phone to display the desktop version of a site. The browser still identifies itself as a browser on Android only it will ask for the desktop version of the site.
