Help Tether

I have the Samsung Captivate running on ATT. I want to have a mobile hot spot and Tether is a product that appears to do the job , BUT there is no app for Tether on my phone. Tether says that it will work with my phone (on their site) but I am stuck. Any help available?

Before you can set up a tether app it's likely that you'll need to root your phone. The reason for this is that running a tether app would require system (root) access to the phone. For more info on rooting check out

I have the captivate through att as well, I have rooted my phone but can't find a way to tether it. Any help would be greatly apreciated. When I downloaded the tether app a screen pops up saying att does not support apps that aren't from the market place.
