Tethering and Creating Folders

Two frustrating tings for and I want to make sure I am not missing anything:

Based upon my research you cannot have the type of folders you have on your phone (by pressing the screen) on the tablet other than adding an app which is not the same thing, is that correct?

There is no way to tether an android app to a tablet without rooting the phone except pdanet tablet which is still in beta, correct?

Thanks for your help

Folders would depend on your tablet's launcher. For example, the default touchwiz on a galaxy tab will allow you to have folders on the homescreen.

I think an android tablet would be able to connect to the hotspot made by an android phone.

I fully support any efforts to clarify or re-write this post. I cannot figure out what we are talking about here at all.

Folders by pressing the screen? (You mean, a folder icon that you can touch and it shows you a list of apps inside?)

Tether android app to a tablet??? What do you mean? Tethering is sharing a data connection (usually sharing your phone's 3G connection with another device). You tether a device to another device. How do you tether an app???

@amlothi - I assumed he meant tether the phone to the pad, because he says PDAnet tablet could do it, and the only thing PDAnet does special (AFAIK) is to share your phone's internet to it via bluetooth.

Sorry for theconfusion, On my Asus Transormer I cannot add a folder icon on my pages the add apps in it like I can with my droid phone it is probably a honeycomb limitation

Regarding tethering chanchan05 you are right I am trying to tether my android to my tablet without rooting

For tethering, simply use your phone as a wifi hotspot. As for the folders, I'd think its a launcher limitation. For example, On Samsung TouchWiz I cannot make folders in app drawer, but using Go Launcher EX, I can. Try to find a launcher for tablets that supports folders from the market.

I use Folder Organizer (the free version). It's better than the stock folders too. That is, if you don't mind adding another application.

Oh yeah! I am using this and I completely forgot about it! Its got customized icons too! Basically its a widget that acts as a folder.
