Tethering / Internet Hot Spot

Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD, using KP500 (Diag mode) Hello

As many of you, i did not realized that after last update the wi-fi hotspot function was creamed by Sprint, so after doing some extensive research i found this link, can any one confirm if they have done this or if they would even try it.

Even though this method does work, why not root your device in it's present state (VC or VD) and then use a wireless tethering app?
