TL;DR: Go Launcher Ex + Go Switch Widger = Root free wireless tether
Today I discovered something quite awesome! I was tethering my phone to my computer with my fancy applications, no paid apps or ad riddled apps either.
A little background on my phone:
Go Launcher Ex
Go Power Switch Widget
If you go to manage your power settings within the Go Power Switch Widget, there is an option labeled: WIFI AP. The first couple of times I tried it, it kept force closing on me, but I think the third or fourth time, it allowed me to set up my SSID and encryption.
I was tethering at school with 3Mbps down for like 2 hours
Works great, and no suspicious apps to worry about or having to pay for an app that might not work because of root or not.
