Tethering on AOPK

I apologize ahead of time if this question has already been asked but I couldn't find the answer with several Google searches. I have rooted my phone and I am running the AOKP ROM. I was just curious if I enabled the firmware tethering if AT&T would pick it up and charge me.

Sorry for the title letter mixup. Didn't even notice it until I reread my post and fixed another error. Give me a break its late :).

It really depends on how closely they monitor, how you use it and if they care. Absolutely, if AT&T wanted to know, they'd know. If you don't abuse it or keep within your data plan, most likely you'll fly under their radar.

Still, as you know, it's a violation of their TOS so if you do tether and they do detect it, they are within their terms of your contract to add it or drop you. You assume the risk, minimal though it may be.

Ok. I just asked because I read that in the stock firmware carriers will put some sort of software that will let them know if you activate it and they will add it onto your plan. Guess this isn't the case when you run a custom ROM/Kernel. Thanks for the help!

(Edit) Even though I stream 320 kbps Spotify all the time off their network I never hit more than a GB. Last month was when I went the highest by quite a bit and it was 1.5GB. Don't think going over would be a problem...
