Help Tethering on Froyo without rooting does not work

[Sybeandringa]

Hello,

I have internet on my Samsung Galaxy Ace and I want to use tethering to connect it to my iPod Touch. But if I connect my iPod Touch to the wireless network of my Samsung and I try to load a webpage, it does not work.
The tethering also does not work on my Windows XP computer, as well wired as wireless connection.

I use Android 2.2 (Froyo) and my phone is not rooted.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Kind Regards,
Sybe Andringa

I asked my carrier whether it was possible to do tethering and they said it isn't possible. So tethering doesn't work because of my provider. Thanks for help!
