Tethering on S3

How does tethering work on the S3- Verizon version? I'm trying to decide between getting this phone and the Droid razr Maxx HD. Tethering is a big deal for me as its my home internet source because I live in a very rural area.

Apparently tethering has been all but blocked off on the Maxx HD, so I wanted to hear from you guys if apps like open garden and wifi tether work if you're rooted. And if fox fi works on a non rooted S3. Thanks guys.

I'm not sure if the US carriers have messed with tethering abilities on the s3 but you shouldn't need an app to do this, the s3 has its own settings to broadcast a wifi hotspot and tether.
Go to settings-more settings and it should be on there. I use mine exactly as you've described. It works perfectly.

Might be worth putting "verizon" in the thread title to get a more targeted response.

Each S3 model is different. Some of the US versions have removed the function and you would need "Fox Fi" installed to regain this functionality. Not being from teh US, I couldn't tell you which, but otherwise, as Anne described above.
