Root Tethering problems

So I tried tethering with usb using star settings and using clockwordmods app and both using shvronrom and starscrom (both apps in both roms one at a time with the other app uninstalled). With both apps as soon as I start tethering 3g turns off and I get an error about not having a proper username or password for spring (boost user here). Then I tried wifi tethering with foxfi and I got a dns error on my comp. I tried using googles dns on my phone and using opendns on my phone. The dns on my comp is set to my phones local ip (192.168.43.1). It worked with wifi on my comp last night for a brief time but when I went to look something up about 5 mins later it didn't work again and has not sinced :(

Anyone else with similar problems? Any idears?

Did you try using barnacle for wireless tethering? I've never tried USB tethering, but I use barnacle all the time. You may have to uncheck "use WPA supplicant" in the settings.

Ill give it a shot now thanks for the suggestion

Thanks Hoss! Im posting this from my computer :D Barnacle is a little buggy for me... have to force close if I stop and want to start again or change a setting but it works and thats all that matters!

Good to hear. If I ever try out USB tethering I'll be sure to let you know of any success. :)

Don't know if it will fix it but maybe try Toggling NAI to off? I don't have boost & never usb tether, but that gets around the log on error on the stock wifi hotspot app for me.
