Tethering problems

Phil229

Hi
I'm currently using pdanet to tether my phone but even though its connected and works fine i cant acess the web.

I have the UMX Max from pubic mobile (lmao) and i dont know of its either my shitty provider who wont even let me change my ringtone lenght before voicemail kicks in (apparently every other phone can) or its because of the program im using or my phone itself.

Thank you for taking your tie to read this thread.

Phil

Hey Phil, not sure if you resolved your problem but i've been having the same issue. Installed PdaNet and wouldn't allow me to browse the web. That's a restriction that public mobile has put on their phones. To get around it all you have to do is

1) Download a VPN, specifically HotSpot Shield to your computer.
2) Run PdaNet normally. Once it's connected, run HotSpot Shield.

Im using it right now to post this response so i'll let u know if there's any intermittent problems with it. Goodluck.

P.S Sometimes HotSpot Shield causes a BSOD when you have PdaNet connected to it. I had that persistent issue when i tried it on my desktop. I switched to my laptop and now it's fine.
